Tolimak

TOLIMAK: Toliman, Rigil Centaurus, Hadar, Alfa Centauri, the brightest object in Centaurus (magnitude -0,26m). Tolimak is a double-star system located 4,395 light years from Earth, its stars spaced approx. 24 AU from each other. Tolimak stars mutual orbit period is 79,9 years.

Tolimak stars:
  1. Alfa Centauri A, main sequence star, magnitude 0.02m, spectral class G2V;
  2. Alfa Centauri B, main sequence star, magnitude 1.35m, spectral class K5.

  3. Proxima Centauri, red dwarf, spectral cass M5.5Ve, magnitude 11.1m (that being 1/17 000 of the brightness of the Sun), distance from Earth 4.22 light years (and approx. 1/6 of the light year from other Tolimak stars).
